Heading up to couch tomorrow for the first time out this year (tudhope park). Be up there around 10am. If anyone is out there and wants to stop and say hi, I will be in the 1 man flip up Rapala.

Tight lines

Unfortunately my fishing schedule has to work out with my son's school schedule. Still going to be better then anything the old ball and chain wants me to do around the house. Lol.

I ended up getting let out of work early and had some daylight left so I snuck over. Got a 12in jumbo and met up with Fish78 and heard his wife have a blast catching her first pike! All in all was a great half hr!!

The wind was high for the morning. Had a school of perch hovering around but they weren't going nuts on anything I was throwing at them. Did catch a few but in all honesty I am always trying to get the bigger ones, like pike at couch, or Lakers on Simcoe. Overall it was much better then anything else I could do in winter.

Well first trip to Tudhope ever, and first on ice this season with my wife turned out pretty good!! Didn't fully set up till 12:30 or so and was off just after 7. Seen lots of perch but not many wanted to bite untill sundown or atleast that's when we found out what they wanted.. not sure lol, but the few we did catch had some good size and no worms. My wife also iced a 3.5lb 24" pike which was her first ever (yes she was screaming lol). Will definately be back soon as we had started shallow and didn't move because of wind and wanted to move deeper. Guess that's a draw back of the pop-ups in the wind. Well night all and happy fishing!!

Nice job fish78. I guess your wife is hooked now. You might not hear the end of it. "Remember that time we went ice fishing and all you could catch was those little perch, and I caught that pike". Lol. Been there with my wife on soft water.
