Leaving the city now. Heading to Caesarea. From everything I've been told (by a coworker who lives on the lake, 6-8" of ice, little to no snow cover (thanks to Tuesdays rain), and no idea if Causeway is open or not. If you're headed up that way, look for me and my fishing partner. Ill be in a red Eskimo flip over, and he'll be in a blue Clam 2000...

Last time I parked at Goreskis, it was $10 for parking...

Heading up for the afternoon bite, will keep an eye out for you and your buddy CB.

Causeway bait is open, and everything else CB said is on the money. Haven't seen or heard of many bluegills yet. I have my own theories i will be testing out this aft.

Best of luck!

I was just out all day, bait shop open and 10 inches of ice. Saw three pickups on the ice.

I went out today, ice is good, 8-9 inches, but still need to be careful if you don't have experience on ice.

Got off the ice aroun 6:15. It was singing and shifting like crazy from the time the sun set making more ice. Fishing this afternoon/evening was quite slow, think it was because of the dropping temps. Ended up getting a huge 4lb oos smallmouth and some small perch and a bluegill, no crappie. Others i talked to only got a couple crappie if any at all.

Cheers

Wow I wish we had a bait store like yours up here on Sturgeon lake.

The ice was making cracking noises like crazy under our hut. The fishing did suck and now I don't feel so bad that we only caught these keepers then.
