Looked at the long range forecast and looks like this weekend we get another small blast of cold then a week of above 0 temps (showing Jan 16 to Jan 24 for Barrie). Not good for the ice making on the laker/whitie grounds. When do you think we'll be seeing the amount of pop ups out like cooks bay, keswick or vb did from this passing weekend. I'm thinking roughly mid feb to be honest when we see lots of people but that's not to say the daring won't venture out before then.

Well this warm up we're having this week was on the long range, the temps have varied a little as well as the snow and rain amounts. But for the most part they do predict warm fronts coming and going. Trust me when I say I'm on your side with the long range being screwed up usually. I'm hoping they're wrong also lol I'm gunnin' for 1-2nd week of feb to get out on bbp but I am not holding my breathe. These warm fronts also don't mean there isn't safe ice else where too. I believe Mother Nature won't give us deep water ice for a couple weeks at least on simcoe. The coming and going warm and cold fronts make for some good winds too, look at what happened this summer. Those winds will f up a lot of what's formed already also. It is unfortunate, c'est la vie.
