Hey guys, was hoping to get my hut out this weekend, was looking at glenwood beach area as I've heard report that it's 8-10 inches. Just looked at the forecast and its forecasting above 0 temperatures. As I have no clue how much snows on the ice how much will this rain/weather affect the ice? Obviously not looking for 100% accuracy, but a ball park figure would be nice. Im guessing Sunday will be a no go for our 8x8 hut though myself, thoughts?

So you believe that even with the warm weather we should be good? That's good news, I'm itching to get it out and start fishing, photos soon to come on my thread about the hut

I'm no pro by any means but good black ice won't disappear with a couple warm days, even with next week there calling for almost everyday above zero. The thing to watch out for is if it rains and the rain water starts collecting on the ice and draining down your holes it will start to wear on the ice in that certain spot making it weaker

But either way I don't see it being much of an issue I'm just going to keep an eye on mine and worse comes to worse you pull it back to shore for a couple days

Ya, Most likely will put the hut temporary in a spot on Sunday, fish, then move it and set it up over fresh ice with no holes to weaken while I'm away, just with it calling for that bit of warm weather.

Ya that's a good idea, I remember you saying in another thread you don't live near by. If you need any updates or anything let me know I live in Keswick right by the lake feel free to PM me

After these warm temps and really high winds nothing will be safe for awhile
