I feel bad about this one. it really should have been caught by my fishing partner today, greenbaypikehunter. he spotted it first and the pike went after his lure first, but just missed it.

luckily for me, he came right over to mine.
other than this guy, nothing but tiny perch for us.
although another fisherman had a bag full of perch in the parking lot to show us. maybe next time.......

on the walk back we hit a air pocket of water, sunk through the ice about 10-12 inches.
scared the crap outta me and i grabbed greenbaypikehunters arm like a scared little b####....lol

water build up from the rain the other day....
other than that, the ice we drilled was 15 inches thick....cooks bay.

which part of Cooks bay, if you don't mind me asking. I plan to go on Sunday with my dad but wasn't sure if the ice is safe with the warm spell recently - 15" sounds good though.

nice healthy fish....
it was a slow day....i have noticed that perch tend to slow down in low pressure, when it goes from cold to warm and the atmospheric pressure rises they can get very aggressive.i think tomorrow and sunday will be good days

its only insulated on the roof. i really like the pop-up.
its a quick fish 6 that i picked up in november at cabelas in the bargain bin, for $300
it was the floor model in their showroom. i was only looking for a single pop up or 2 man.
once i saw that one and the size. i grabbed it right away.

i like it very much. quick to set up and its been holding in the heat very well.
it came with some very nice anchors. can't say too much for the tie strings...lol
those are like shoe strings.i just went to the dollar store and bought some tie down straps.

for 2 guys fishing inside, its like a living room...lots of space for stretching out,and standing up.lots of room for all the gear inside.

it could easily have 4 guys inside, no problem.
