Been her since 9am. Lots of ice and lots of huts out today. Some have parked their trucks on the ice as well.

How thick would you say the ice is?? Lookin to take my 6year old ice fishing for his first time. Just looking to see if it's safe.

i was out yesterday. foudn the ice started to CRACK on me.

drilled a hole once i got to safer ice. I found that there was 2 layers of ice, separated by a little water (my guess is the rain)

- first layer of ice was thin, but the bottom layer was thick and safe, so watch out.

There's no more pocket of water between the ice. I'd say close to 10" thick. But as for your son that's your call to make.

Thanks for the info guys. I hear ya. Generally if I have 10" of ice that's a pretty safe indicator.
