Anyone use a periscope for Ice Fishing?, Or a digital periscope? ;)

With sight fishing, I can see the vertical plane, but I lack access to the horizontal plane. To counter this problem, I have 2 solutions.

First solution is to use a periscope to sight fish around Simcoe in shallower depths, but I'm limited by the length of the periscope.

Second solution would be using an action camera to relay what the camera sees to my phone. Only problem is wifi can't be transmitted in water. I'm planning to make a rig to accomplish this, but don't have much experience with wiring.
I'm looking to buy some rg174 coaxial cable to transmit wifi signal from the action cam to my phone.

The vexilar fish phone transmits wireless via Bluetooth to your phone or tablet

Reason why I'm focused on action cam is because I want some underwater footage.

The fish phone takes stills and records video at the push of a button...descent quality

Sometimes building your own rig is the best solution, and also far more rewarding. With that being said, here is what i built.

Your set up was a tad advanced for me.
I've completed my rig to use an action camera as a underwater camera that provides real time relay to my phone.
