Was out at Port Bolster today got minnows from Caseys and headed out. Ice was nice and safe imo. About 8 inches with about 5 inches of hard white and the rest black. I had studs in my boots so the walk out was good. I could imagine it would be quite slippery with out them. I don't really target perch but I managed a few jumbos with my personal best through the ice today. Saw atv and sleds running the lake. Tight lines

Nice!

By the way, you mentioned you don't really target perch. Then I am really wondering what species of fish you are targeting on ice off Port Bolster, then:-) I know one might get some odd pike and/or herring there for example, but most likely you'd just land none other than perch?:-)

Hi Xialiu

What I mean is when I do ice fish I'm usually in deep water hunting lakers and white fish. I'm not comfortable going out to deep water yet with the ice the way it the locations I go to so headed there to scratch the itch and to see if I could get a few perch and maybe a pike👍

Just outside Casey's last Monday 27 nice perch all good size fish
Another trip today was 22 fish with the biggest one for me to date.
All the guys around us had 2-5 fish we had twenty when a neighbour stopped by it was pretty funny. Caught two nice jumbos while he came for a visit too just to add insult to injury. Some ###### on a sled too was 3-4 feet away ripping it. And close to another two guys walking out.
