Cooks Bay

Hi folks, I haven't fished simcoe in a few years, since i moved to North Bay. That said my dad was given a gift card to fish with lucks sons fish hut on cooks bay. Their website says that they offer trout and whitefish fishing, but there will also be perch in the same area. I have never fished perch and trout together. We were really hoping to get after lakers and whities. Does any body know if the trout and whitefish fishing in cooks bay is decent? also wondering if we are allowed to fish herring on simcoe this year? just hoping to know what to expect.

I've only caught pike and perch in cooks bay through the ice. Not to say its impossible to catch whities or lakers... Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

im sure if they say they are set up for trout and whities , they must have a set up on the main lake ,and yes we are allowed 2 herring

Good to know! I have never caught a herring in simcoe, but lots in nipissing. (they always seem to be full of parasites here

i think he is up in Lefroy. Terry Goy used to run out in the same area years and years ago maybe 10+ years ago. Terry Goy used to run trout and white fish huts up that way. Very low pressured trout ground back in those days. Not sure now.
