QUOTE (xiaolu @ Jan 17, 2017 - 05:23 pm)
[Tuesday January 17th]

Fished from 8:00AM to 12:30PM, and went 1 for 2:

Congrats! that's what my hut looked like today too

I was out Oro 2 line, landed 3 whities and 2 lakers - lost 2 whities right at the hole along with a my largest Laker ever along with my favourite Target lure I had it on for a long time but it did that last dive right at the hole and broke my leader.

When I left home @ 5:30am it was not so nice but thought I'd do the drive and see if it differed, if not I wouldn't bother going out.

Well I got half way to my location and nothing weather wise was happening, roads clean

Was able to set-up - but then it came and did it come, freezing rain, rain and really strong winds, personally I have never experienced such before.

Walking back with a couple of inches of water ontop of the actual ice, where I was set-up 4.5" -5" blk plus 2 inches of water at one point.

I ended my day at the parking area by having to give a guy a tow, he couldn't get his car out, He was lucky that I came in reasonably early because no one else was there and he had been there already for some time.

2 guys , said they got skunked - I put my underwater camera down 90 fow at one point, lots of whites just cruising around but only saw a few lakers, 12- 20 inches off the bottom.

Hi Xioalu,

Is your Drill and the battery still working ok?
I saw you left your Drill and battery outside the rain and I am so worry your Drill and battery won't work anymore. It's happen to me one time when I left it outside when I was raining and my Drill were toasted

Thanks, I didn't pay attention to that. Yes I left my drill outside the hut, and it "collected" lots of ice and rain. I will have to check it out...

Good job xman got a measly bag of perch today waiting for thicker ice weather killed the fishing in my opinion.

2 of us walked out from Beaverton not bad on way out but once the wind and rain came I was hoping we wouldn't lose the flip over clam . Was sure glad there were 2 of us to take it down and get the cover on it . We didn't catch a thing

Your the man James and crazy going out in  that weather...    How was the ice holding up....

Ice was as good as last Sunday (two days ago). I don't see any problem with the ice today. The real problem was the freezing rain and strong wind. By the time I was ready to leave, and wanted to take down my big CLAM pop-up hut, there was absolutely no way I could take it down myself without sending the hut up high into the sky flying to the other side of the lake as a freebie for someone to collect!:-) I had to walk like 200 yards on ice and asked another fisherman in a hut to help me out (take down my hut). Once the hut was taken down and folded, I realized with ice accumulated on the hut, the hut was like weighing over 200 lbs, and I had to drag it all the way back to shore!

OMG!!! You take the prize!! Good for you man,I couldn't even get to my van 100 feet from home without my cleats on!!
