Finally got out for the first time in 2017, hit up Cooks Bay with a buddy. Ice was 7"-8" in anywhere we drilled a hole. Weather was perfect. Slow start had us moving around, trying different depths in the early AM, but found a nice little honey hole that was producing. After about 100 dinker and a dozen keepers, we marked the spot and decided to try a little deeper. The action were a little slow so we decided to move back to the honey hole to try the afternoon bite. As soon as we got back and set up the perch came right in. We had our work cut out for us, weeding through a couple hundred perch to walk away with about 40 worth keeping. Not a bad day out, and it sure beat going to work on a Monday. Fingers crossed the ice holds up for next weekend, so I can bring the wife along
