A buddy caught one of these - "Ling/burbot" fish and I could not find under Simcoe rigs info.

Are you allowed to keep? Limit restrictions?

I recall having at a buddies place some years back and was tasty how it was cooked up.

They are considered a Coarse Fish, IOW not a Game Fish. Believe it or not a concerted effort was made back in the day to extirpate them from The Lady.

Good eats for sure.

Tough to clean aside from the tail end.

Needs to be a pretty decent sized ding-a-ling to get meat off the ribs. They tend to ooze/poop if you squeeze em - fyi.

Batter it in some cronzy-crisp. Makes for a yummy snack.

Boil boneless skinless bite size chunks in salt water for about 5 minutes or until done. To eat dip in drawn garlic butter. Considered by some to be poor man's lobster.

If they taste like lobster..... that is the fish I want to eat!

Not sure of the technique you use to clean them but there are some super easy methods for these fish that make it on of the easier fish to clean with no pin bones.....Youtube it and you should see a few good ones.

That's what I do. Next time I get one I'm going to boil it in Mountain Dew. Did it with Pike and it turned out really good
