No l haven't, but agree we should put the big female hogs we catch back in the lake to spawn there eggs to keep the population up in numbers for perch.

Not sure if my logic is reasonable. But if we throw all the females back and keep the males, What's left to fertilize the eggs? I would assume there should be a balance, and my thoughts would be to only keep a days or twos meal.

I do not see a decline in Perch on Simcoe. If anything, I think it has increased in the last 5 years. The big males should be released vs the big females IMO as there's not as many big males out there compared to big females. As mentioned above, there needs to be a good balance as the males are the ones doing the fertilization. On average, I've only caught 1 big male to every 40 big female.
