Fishing was slow for us,but what a weekend

Came back from another trip to Nipissing, we didn’t ice any trophies this time, but had a great outing since weather was gorgeous for all 3 days and we still managed to catch some fish. Eyes were really finicky so we had to work hard for every one we landed. Saturday was the most productive day for fishing and Monday for the sunburn, here how did it go.

Thanks for the report. You guys got some nice fish there. What outfitter did you fish with and what was the depth of the water. I'm going up shortly and information like this would be helpful. Did you get checked by the ministry? I have not heard of any reports of the ministry checking things out, but you would think they would be out there with the amount of walleyes that are being caught this year.

Hi Dickie, we have snowmobiles and 15$ i-phone app for depths, stayed in motel and found the fishing hole ourselves. This fish was caught in Callander bay, the depth is drop down from 10 to 26’, so we were on 18 approx. Jigging was productive with a minnow head attached, you can use Williams and swedish pimple, but no aggressive moves, go very light and gentle, use middle to small size minnows, they don’t really like anything large than 2,5”. As for the ministry guys, we personally didn’t see any but you have to just be smart, for us fishing is our hobby for life and we don’t want stupidly loose this privilege for over limit or slot size, this things are there for the reason. Local fishermen told us that opp and mnr are out. Have a good time and catch a lot.
