Looking for some Info Lindsay Area

Hello all

Im heading up to my mother in laws next weekend, She lives in Lindsay. Was hoping to get on for a day fishing. I have a hut booked Saturday with a few friends in beaverton. Was also thinking i would like to get out sunday before the game.

I did go out once before on Sturgeon Lake last year. had no live bait and no finder so never even got a nibble.

Anyway was looking for some info for a place to try. Was looking at maybe scugog. Probably gonna take the wife out, So were more then content catching some panfish. If anyone can pass any info would be great.

From what i can tell from the navionics web app heading out from scugog point or from the ramp near caesarea. Its just under 1 km to find some deeper water in the 10 ft range from scugog point and in the 20 ft range from the caesarea ramp.

All were looking for is info on where to park, Where to walk on, Where to buy bait. As far as i have read its bluegill, perch and crappie in there?

We will be coming from lindsay for the day.

I'd get my bait at Kawartha Lakes Bait and Tackle on Queen St. in Lindsay. I know Bobcaygeon Bait is shut down for the winter. Jerry, the guy who runs KLBT, is open daily (usually).

The guy on Queen street is quite the character. I would recommend going anywhere else. I've bought a dozen minnows from hima couple different times and then they all die 2 hours later. I have talked to a pile of local anglers just like me, that can't stand him.

Get your minnows and stuff on the way up if you can. Most bait shops like talking to the anglers and are great to talk to, for example Marks Worm Warehouse in Bocaygeon is hell of a good store. He will treat you good there but they usually won't open until April . I'm sure there's a few board members that feel the same way. Goodluck and tight lines.

Guy on queen street is terrible if you have questions, like "how's fishing" or "what's the ice like". Don't know if it was my personal experience but he was terrible for local information. I found fishing near snug harbour before sunset was productive the last couple years. We would often do well on perch there. Also I found worms are beating minnows head to head so far this year. Also at snug harbour it's only 6ft and weedy so a flashers effectiveness is limited.

Jerry on Queen at Kawartha Tackle is a good guy. Yes at first when I met him maybe wasn't the friendliest guy but always has minnows and I've had minnows last multiple days by adding water. I bought minnows Friday at noon and a bunch are still alive today. We have been nailing the perch and it's great to see many walleye accidentally caught as well. We even got a couple over 20 inches. Mnr literally just stopped in to say hello. Two Sundays in a row. Good to see. FYI marks in on 36 closed this time of year.

Pretty much the south shore roads are all accessible. As for ice conditions at all of these I haven't measured.

I'm finding best time of day 3:30 till 6:30 with 6:00pm being the best. You might have better luck at Scugog though and can prob just follow the crowds.
