Someone a few days ago asked about burbot / ling in Scugog. I can confirm that I never seen, heard or ever caught one in Scugog..

BUT I have a story that has bothered me for a longtime. About 25-30 years I was fishing on the Caesarea dock catching the usual, bluegills and perch and someone next me caught a large catfish, I was quite young but I could swear it was a channel cat, approx 4-5 lbs or so... I had seen and caught many bullheads, but this one was different, large and very grey with some red in the face..

Has anyone ever caught or heard of channel cats in Scugog? Or even large catfish that size?

Still wonder about this..

I spent my summers on the bog aboard our boat when I was growing up. We were at Goreski's. I saw a lot of catfish being caught. Word at the marina was a big channel cat was caught today. I heard this quite a few times.

I knew nothing about fishing then and still don't, but, ya, I'd say they're in there.

I've seen huge schools of catfish minnows in the Nonquon.
Kids have caught a few small ones.
