Was out on chemong today just south of the causeway and there was a good 12" of ice with a good 8" of good dark clear ice so have at er boys. Caught a good 20+ perch lots of fingerlings but a half dozen of good jumbos but they were all full of worms so back int he holes they went.

Is there any snow cover on the ice. Was out last Friday and it was like a sloppy skating rink.

Anyone been out on Chemong in the last couple days near the causeay? Thinking about making the trip over there today and wondering if there is still lots of ice.

any idea if the ice held up after the rain, hoping these 4 nghts of cold will tighten it back up!

The little black worms are no problem and even the white ones in the flesh I just pick out with the knife. Some fish seem worse. I caught a ton of perch in Chemong about a week ago. Using a slab grabber. Kept about 10. No Crappie. I'm pretty sure the ice will be thickening up over the next few days. Wear your cleats, it'll be slick.

planning to go out sunday out from horseshoe island where all the huts were. Got a ton of perch there 2 weeks ago, kept 20 decent ones for a meal. No crappie that time.

Was in the same area for perch literally non stop action for 3 hours but no crappie at all (monster muskie but didn't land it) hoping for Sunday aft. Got a couple of areas I'd like to try. Pretty sure the ice has firmed up over the last few days.

Only 4 people out on the ice today. Shoreline is great need cleats to walk out. There is about 15 inches of good ice Caught perch steady all day, kept 22. No other species caught. Hoping to get out again next weekend.

Thanks for the report. Will probably try Rice Lake near Bewdley this aft to mix it up a bit. Not the numbers of fish as in Chemong though.

Thanks for the report! I thought there would be far less ice than that so I didn't go out for the past two weeks. I'll likely get out there this weekend.
