Looking to take my son fishing in the Kawartha lake area. I'm having a hard time deciding on which lake to fish. We primarily fish for bass, pike and walleye. Not into trout. Any suggestions would be awesome. Also looking for a place to stay.

Balsam might be the only one with pike in it. They all have bass. Scugog is closed for walleye for the next 10 years or something.

I fish Chemong and Rice Lake mostly because they're the closest. Rice has Lrg and Sm mouth bass, panfish (crappie, sunfish, perch) walleye and muskie. It's a good productive lake and there are some resorts that offer guides so you can hire a guide for 1/2 day and they'll show you some spots you can try later. Chemong is good also. Same species, and not as large so a bit easier to figure out. Check out online fishing maps of these lakes to get an idea of fish location.

if you mean this summer I would suggest Pigeon Lake Resort, when my kids were little they loved it. Great fishing, little cabins on the water close to Bobcaygeon. If you mean now I would suggest Florida......!
