lol respect to Matt for coming up with great ideas and getting everyone all excited an pumped up for bass season. I know we are still spit balling ideas on dates but I was wondering how much entry fees are ? and if there's an AOY title / payout at the end of the season? Sorry Matt but now I'm all excited lol

Thanks Adam. I'm getting excited too.
Fee will most likely be 100 a team per tourney. I would like to keep a certain percentage out 4 the 2 day classic to make it a big win but I have not decided if I am going to link that to the gold bass tournament yet. Whether linked or not there definitely will be plaques* for the winners of the circuit as well as of the gold Bass Tournament. As you said just spitballing here but we could have the people in the circuit do the 2-day and then the people in the gold bass just do the first day of it and that's when the gold trophy would be handed out.

For those worrying about not being able to make all the events I am trying to structure it in such a way that even if u don't make every event you have a chance to win.
What I'm thinking of is only counting a teams top 3 weights.
What this means is... let's just say there are 5 events not including the classic. And team A fishes every one and gets 10lbs in each one which totals 50lbs for the 5 events.
And team B fishes 3 events and gets 15lbs in each event for a total of 45lbs.
I don't feel that would be fair to team B to lose for doing less events. So in the structure I have in mind in this case team A would have 30lbs (3×10lbs) against team B's 45lbs (3x15)
Now yes this does benefit the people who fish more events as its kind of like culling but if you have a bad day you do get the chance to make it up on another event.

Matt almost every series is run that way , usually best 3 out of 4 or so . Sometimes there is a wildcard lake which you can use to substitute a bad day . Only fair way of doing it , otherwise people are just buying the title . Just my opinion cheers

I've seen one or 2 done with total weights which to me was probably just to try and force people to go to every one and bring thier club more money. and so I wanted to make sure I clarified.
It Especially wouldn't be fair as obviously I'm forced to do everyone.

The organization only do that to make money , what usually happens in series like that is fewer boats for each event as guys can't make them all so they go elsewhere

I don't know much about running tournaments but here's my 2 cents. I think for a team to qualify, they must fish at least 3 tournaments. And the winner is decided on their best 3 bags. So teams that participate more have better chances, being able to discard bad outings.

Okay, it might just be me, but I'm a bit confused and new to this style of tournament. So please help me understand better.
So to get to the classic, you have to basically qualify from the series? right? (which ever way you calculate that weight)
Some money from each series is put aside and then into the classic for the prize?
If this classic is also going to be the "Gold Bass", wouldn't that just mean anyone that only wants to fish the Gold Bass tourney automatically can't join it?
sorry for the stupid questions. I'm by far not a tournament angler and don't speak this lingo. LOL

@Than. I just pm'd you better details and keep in mind all of this is rough estimated right now as I am still working out the kinks.
Normally in a series you need to do a minimum amount to be able to qualify for the classic. Now seeing as there are probably people who either can't make more than one event or only want to fish one tourney and so only fish the gold bass tourney and I don't want to force those people out of a good time just because they are unable to make the rest.
So to accommodate the people who only want to fish one tourney and those who want a 2 day classic I'm am trying to think of a way to allow for both.
And what I have come up with so far and am gearing towards is to have day one an open tourney which is the regular gold bass tourney with the gold trophy and so on. All people in the series or not are eligible to win the gold bass and the pot for that day and so on. But day 2 would only be for those who were in the series (3 events or more) and thier total would count just as day 1 did.
I hope that makes sense? If it doesn't I can explain better. Just let me know. No question is stupid. Just as long as well all get on the same page.
And I should add that the tourney events would be open too if someone didn't want to fish the rest of them but yes I am thinking of keeping a small percentage of the winnings from those to add onto the winner of the 2 day.

^ thank you. that cleared up a lot of mud for me.
What is the normal practice when it comes to the team members for a tournament like this? are people interchangeable? ie. the two persons in a team fishing the series have to be the same two people for the classic? If you fish 4 series with a different partner in every event, can you still fish the classic? how does that work?
I ask because there are many that can't always fish with the same partner every time.

sorry if I'm being stupid again.
Normally how these work is one is listed as the boater and that's who's the points calculate under. This is for that reason that yes partners do change from time to time.
To go back to the other topic of gold bass and series. I'm also not opposed to having them to separate tourneys. (One the open gold bass and one the 2 day series classic) How ever that may be a lot of time to take off for some I clouding my self.
I feel like we should all meet for drinks some time and discuss everything lol. It gets worked out faster that way sometimes and keeps us all on the same page.

I see you making plans to fish without me! Lol I might not be able to fish much this year but will try to keep some dates available. Always fun and knowing my bantering up to the dates will somewhat pot commit myself to show up.
