Was not surprised but certainly disappointed after spoting and catching a round goby at the causeway in Chemong lake there were dozens of them in different size classes so have been there a while. I reported it to the evasive species hotline and thought I'd spread the bad news to you all if someone hasn't already.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what exactly do these Gobies do that are harmful?? I've heard of them being an evasive species but not sure what harmful effect they have on our lakes

They eat the eggs of sportfish. They also eat up all the food sources for young sportfish.

I've used the live target Toby's through the ice the whitefish love to chase them but the ones I got are too big for there mouths. BPS were sold out of the tiny ones. Been finding lots in the whitefish and trout stomachs.

Once the sport fish figure out that gobies are a food source monster smallies.
Already happening. They're finding them in their stomachs like crazy. Yes they breed multiple times and eat other fish eggs. But in hind sight they are slow and not boney which makes them a delicious meal for bass and other sports fish.
Mother nature is mysterious and will always balance things out IMO. the only thing it struggles with is us humans.
