Howdy - just wrapped up a week at BL. Craziest weather EVER! Tornado warnings, insane rain - it was humid at the start of the week over 30C - then 6C on Thursday AM? WTH?
Bass patterns followed suit.
Bass opener was awesome - all smallies, nothing huge but aggressive fish. Cranks in shallows, must have been 100 bass boats on the lake. Bite died off in the afternoon.
Sunday was a dud.
Monday was excellent, white spinner baits were on fire, 5 of us got around 30 p##### off smallies - we all used spinners.
Tuesday was so so. One buddy did awesome, cranks and spinners again - wacky did not work for some reason? Topwater created a bunch of blow ups but big time commitment issues.
Wednesday AM was terrific, I nailed 5 2-3lbers in 45mins. Lost 2 big ones at the net.
Thursday was a disaster, cold front killed off the bite, I cast for 6 hours straight, every presentation imaginable. Emptied the toolbox... We did get a couple at night but thats it!
A few pics. My fav is of me and my buddy, his head is down because he just dropped his 3.5lber into the lake while we were taking the pic!!!!
We stayed at the BL resort which is awesome, 6th year. COW/SOW wing night and even a trip to the Pattie house.... Hope this is helpfull.
