Soo for a few weeks my 1995 Nitro with mercury tracker motor started getting a faint beeping similar to the one for the injected oil (mine is disconnected and oil mixed with gas) but it never really fully engaged and normally turned off after a few seconds whenever it decided to turn on. Yesterday when I was out fishing it started to stay on all the time but would stop at times when i pressed the choke, the motor was not overheating, water is still running through the motor and I ended the day fishing without going as far as I would have liked and the trim gauge died at the end of the day turning on once after it stopped working. I played around with the engine last night for a bunch of hours making sure all the electrical connections were actually connected and not corroding etc. Today the trim was working like always but at some point the trim stopped working going downwards from the throttle and bow of the boat. I have no clue what to do and the boat will stay in the garage until it is fixed because I have no money for a mechanic.

Does anyone have any similar stories or ideas of how to get rid of my headache?

Sounds like your oil pump is not working properly and lack of trim fluid.

No idea on your beeping issue, that's a strange one. Trim sounds like the solenoid/ relay problem, I would Google your specific engine and look up trim soleniod, locate it and switch wires around should be able to make it work the other way. You could also prove things out by switching wires at battery ( neg/ pos) then try your trim if it then works oposite your trim relay is defective

Thinking a little more, you say trim GUAGE stopped working ??? Is it stuck in one place, up/down/middle etc or is it like when you turn key off.
I still suspect the soleniod as that is the most common, however given your mention of Guage I would also check ALL ground connections at motor.

You know, a bad ground somewhere could also cause your beeping as that is how most warning sensors work (short to ground).

Check your trim relays first . My tracker nitro seems to go threw one every 2 years

The trim works at the back of the boat luckily so this must be an issue somewhere around the throttle which is a b**** to get apart. I still don't know if the alarm goes off for anything other than the oil injector which is disconnected in my case or for the engine to overheat. I'm not giving up yet because no point in cutting the alarm off for no reason, if I cut it I want to know all the alarms it goes off for. Other sites mention replacing the impeller for alarm issues but water seems to be going through the system fine. I was hoping this was a somewhat common issue with an easy resolution... lol

From everything you've mentioned, you have a ground feedback problem.

Everything electrical aboard has a ground. EVERYTHING.

Sorry to say, but you gotta put in the time.

Don't forget your anodes. Ground feedbacks can really do a number on your anodes.
