I've never fished Scugog before and a business meeting will have me in Caesarea likely later this week. Can anyone report on how the fishing is out that way, for any species, and what the parking situation is at the public dock. I'll be in my inflatable with a trolling motor, so some mobility but range is limited. Is that side of the lake decent, or should I try out of Port Perry instead? Thanks in advance

Plenty of parking at the ramp if a weekday, usually not too bad on weekends as well (at least until bass opens). With walleye closed the lake isn't getting nearly the pressure it used to. My preferred areas are too far from the ramp to go in an inflatable but you should be able to hit some panfish within distance of the ramp. Depending on the water conditions at the time you can either work the shorelines or try some of the weedlines a bit deeper in the lake and should be able to find some crappie, sunfish and perch. I am not a musky fisherman so I can't speak to the opportunities for them.

x2 what he said that lake is nothing but a bass lake now, thats it. Walleye closed forever, muskie fishing is so so, crappie are all small, perch dinks too. It has gone downhill. Years and years of over fishing!
