I have been reading all of your post for a few weeks now and I am appreciating all of the great info. I try and fish a few times a week and will try and share some of my favorite tricks with everyone. I just tried a new to me trick for lake trout and it worked well. On light line drop shot rig a white tube jig hooked in the nose. Move it lightly with finesse and hold on and enjoy the ride.

Hey Mad Max
Welcome.
Yeah, white tubes can be very effective for Lake Trout.
