for the amount of money I spend on fishing, darn right i am eating them, yum
👍 I'll admit I can be selfish and hate seeing people keep fish I enjoy catching for sport. But I am more logical then selfish and understand the rights to hunting and fishing was to provide and not for sports.
poidy I couldn't agree with you more. I am not a tournament fisherman and do not use electronics. I go fishing to get a feed of fish since the slot size for walleye I have only been able to keep 2 so I enjoy a few SMB and Lake Trout

Many years ago I was cleaning some bass out on a deck stopped for about 10min when I went back on cleaning them wasn t able to continue due to all the worms crawling out of them probably from the sun and heat left a bad feeling in towards eating them again. For my self only good for catch and release my opinion.

the one time i had largemouth without any kind of seasonng it tasted like wet grass. occasionally get that from other fish but this is why we have seasoned breading and beer batter

I voted I eat them occasionally. With that in mind, I only eat smallies. Not all the time but I'll keep one every so often for a lil snack. Large mouth no I just find with the majority of the ones I catch in warmer shallow water just don't like / trust the quality of the fish. But that's my own personal preference.

Why take the chance? Nothing like a nice rainbow trout. I used to eat bass as a kid, like others have said it depends on environment but usually they do taste bad. Bass also are pretty prone to worms.

The only time I have ever eaten a bass was in algonquin park for a shore lunch. One two lb smallie for four of us. It was pretty good with some seasoning and batter.
