A couple of nights ago was one of those nights when every fish seems to be on the bite. My wife caught a 17" wally and I caught several bass and a sheepshead all within a 1 hour sunset canoe ride. I would love to figure out how to catch sheepshead more regularly as their fight is like none other.

Easiest way to catch more sheepshead..... Just clean your boat until it looks like new.....you'll catch them for sure. As far as I can figure out....they're the aquatic version of a malfunctioning manure spreader. They start crapping the minute you lift them out of the water. Or just forget to take your hookout pliers when you go out fishing.....guaranteed....you'll catch them then. Their mouths are as rubbery as an old worn out snow tire...and just as tuff to get a hook out of. Basically...they're the angling equivalent of the ugly fat girl that shows up on the blind date.....not what you were hoping for and a lot more then you really wanted to handle....with the tackle you brought.

Remember very clearly the first Sheephead ever landed by our party so many years ago in the West Arm.
Maybe this strikes a memory chord or two.
The three of us in the boat were all thinking world record bass with the first run. Then.. a quick flash by the boat and few faces showing the look of "what the hell is that" ... followed shortly by "I think thats a sheephead and what the hell is it doing here."
