Since I am quite new here at the board, and hardly fish during summer, this will be my first successful catch/post of the Salmon run season.
It is still too early to consider a successful fishing trip, I was just lucky to be at the right time and the right moment.
Water level higher makes fishing much more challenging IMO.
I have to blur out the background, to protect the site. Sorry about it!
The 12lb female that was release ,already turning dark. It hardly fought as well. I was using 12lb mono with a 10 foot long Shimano Convergence rod, with glow spoon. 20 yrs of experience doing this ritual, I never want to kill a female fish for its roe.
Some hint, 1-3 days after a major rain. Weather was 17 degrees(does not matter much IMO), 20-25km wind. Very murky water condition. Almost zero water visibility. Cloudy overcast day.
