Like I said in a previous post my son and I have just started fishing for muskie over the past month.....we have landed a couple each as well as some large walleye and bass.
Now to the rookie Move......take the hook out of the net as well as the fish or else it gets flung into your hand !

And now you're officially christened into the foolish Muskie fisherman membership ( myself included, although it wasn't quite as big of a hook ), welcome aboard!

I feel your pain. I've had a similar situation down in Louisiana fishing alone. I was anchored fishing in a popular channel in Lake Ponchartrain. I had finished for the day and had the boat on the trailer. I was coiling the anchor rope to put it away, pulling it through one hand while coiling with the other. There was a big treble hook caught in the rope that I didn't see and it ended up embedded in my left pinkie finger after bouncing off the bone. Towed the boat home, unhitched it, then drove to emerg to have it removed. 4 hours later (after tending to 2 heart attacks and a gunshot wound) they finally got to me. The worst was the injection in the finger to deaden it so they could cut the hook and push it the rest of the way through. I've never coiled another anchor rope since!!

Sorry about the hook . It happened to my son a couple years ago a small Muskie swapped ends real quick and buried a treble right near a knuckle . We have good cutters and cut the treble off but had to go to the hospital to get the rest out . My son said the same thing the shots hurt worst then the hook going in . Heal up quick there are Muskies to catch .
