Hey all, I have recently joined this form and read many posts ( alot of like minded people out there ) With the weather being so nice I took a 4 day multi lake mini trip. Thursday I arrived at the lake in Bancroft area around 2 figured I would get 5 1/2 hrs in Hit a lot of spots , as im floating around scanning the water I see dimples and movement in a small area, I got closer and saw a weed bed that was never there in the past years loaded with minnows around 4 inches so I figured to go back at witching hour, up to now I boated 3 bass 1 pike so after a while I head back to the weed bed My fist cast on spinner bait I land a 3.2lb smallie OK im on em ! 2nd cast I get a monster bite and set the hook there was so much tension the line snapped with a loud pop (im sure it was a musky )NO WAY ! I retie a bait and a few casts later dont I pick up my broken line with the lure attached So I put that one back on and I get bit again A musky around 10 lbs makes a leap to the sky and breaks me off again WTF this time I get part of the spinner back the hook part broke completely off. Next morning I go back to get more abuse. Very heavy fog didnt burn off till around 9 am I head right to last nites spot NOTHING searching other areas with out a bite , By now its close to 11 and I have to leave, one more shot at the spot a couple of casts and bang a smallie 3.4lb then nothing I switch to a 4 inch jerk bait and bang a big large mouth and dosent he break me off ! I can see her under the boat trying to shake off the lure If I had a net man maybe I could have got the fish and the 15.00 $ lure haha Next day I head to Balsam to fish with my brothers and leave there with only 1 fish caught on a #5 spinner hummmmmmmmmm ! Sunday I headed to Percy Boom home of some monster fish and spend the day with a friend that fishes a lot so he has home court advantage..... By 2 we were done and managed pike and bass with the big fish of the day (smallie ) taking me in the weeds and getting off ! ( and the beat goes on ) Its not just about catching ( but catching is ok to ) Its all the other parts that keeps me coming back for more
