Decided to stay overnight on my boat and try for ling and it didnt take long. Got this guy in Kbay around 80FOW on glow in the dark lure by 9:00PM. Great fight and not near as smelly as i anticipated haha! With ling scratched off my list i decided to go even more aggressive and try to hunt down the elusive Simcoe walleye for the next couple hours. Should have stayed with the ling.... On a side note why does every boater at night feel the need fly by a lit up parked boat so close i can sing along with their music?? Happened twice last night and i swear they were within 25' of my bow. Must be coming back from the bar or something.

Ya they're called the poor mans lobster. They're a fresh water cod from i understand. I let this one go back for another day and my son was very disappointed that he couldn't try it. I'll let you know how they taste on the next one i get.

They are a very tasty fish. I cube the meat then flour, pan fry and add in some garlic butter or cube and boil in mountain dew and serve with garlic butter. Also good battered and fried.

Cube, and boil in Mountain Dew!???
Who was the first one to try that!???
I feel like there was some other green involved, beyond just the Mountain Dew.

if you lightly batter fillets in a potato starch powder before using your regular batter the meat doesn't go mushy - stays firm and it tastes really good.
