Barrie Fall Fishing Tournament, Perch derby

So not many posts on this BFFF...... I entered this year and had a friendly competition with my good buddy Adam over the last 3 days.
The perch cooperated!
The lake size perch are in the bay!
Monday Adam 127 perch to my 93
Tuesday Adam 152 perch to my 113
Wednesday Adam 101 perch to my 77

3 days fishing ....663 perch landed ..... total 15 hours on the water
That's right 663 perch of various sizes unfortunately not a tagged one in the bunch ...

Adam is the winner !

We kept about 50 in total to eat at a big family feast. The rest live to grow bigger and fight another
day

Great time ... great sport on a world class fishery !

What is your fav bait to use , when fishing for Perch , your go to bait before you have even caught your first Perch of the day ?

Drop shot or jig head .... you can't just sit still tho... there is a "jigging technique " that makes them go nuts... you figure it out

In the winter you can also tie a small fly about 6" above a rapala jigging rap and you can sometimes catch double headers on them which is fun. Haven't tried it in the summer though.
