Somewhat new to the board here, been meaning to post this for awhile but been super tied up with work.

Caught this Muskie about a month and a half ago at Stony Lake at a friends cottage.

Was trolling around for a few hours with no luck.

Stopped and anchored down in a super weedy area in about 8 feet of water, about 50 feet away from an island.

Third cast, boom, hits, flew super high right out of the water and took a good 10 minutes to get in the boat, smelled awful.

Caught it on a massive lure I got at Sail. I dont remember the make or the name unfortunately, but was a big orange perch like lure - that separated in 3 different parts - head, middle, tail. Great action.

Also, noticed a massive bite mark you can see in the picture or a lamprey mark potentially? Not sure what it is.

Hopefully will be posting more for you guys.

Pretty stoked though.

Never weighed or measured, just wanted to get it back in the water, so no clue on how many pounds or cm's/inches.

Been trying for a ski since I was a kid.

There you go, your patience has been rewarded.

As for the mark on it, could be anything from a lamprey to just a common sore found on musky. If it fought well and it appears to be healthy otherwise it's no cause for alarm.

Very nice fish. And great first post.

Usually we see pics of fish that look like a muskie tried to get them. That one looks like it tangled with a lamprey lol
