I have found bass comes in all sorts of colors as it depends on where you catch them. If the bottom is sandy and water is clear, I often catch bass that are far lighter in color (like the one you pictured) than when I catch a bass from a dark bottom area with color. They tend to blend into the surroundings almost like a chameleon changing colors.
