I know it's been a while since I've put up a post but we've been quite busy and I don't have as much time to write posts like I use to. The last month hasn't been great for bass or pike but the perch fishing has been amazing! We've found a large area that has been consistently producing jumbo after jumbo every time we go there. The first two outings we kept 10 on each day and then 7 on the third day. The ones we kept were between 11.5" and 12.5" and probably released 5 times that many over and under that size slot.
We had been wishing all week for great weather on Friday Oct 27th as it was my birthday and were not disappointed. Winds gusting to 15km made for a nice boat ride to our "spot" and for 2.5 hours had non-stop action. I had made a decision before we even left that since it was my birthday, I didn't want to kill any fish. This was not the day to make that decision but it felt good releasing every one. Almost every drop down produced a fish and not more than 5 minutes passed between caught fish. Up until now, I had only caught one 14" perch in all my years of fishing but on Friday, I caught a total of three 14" fish! We were using 4" tube baits on a dropshot which we'd normally use for bass or pike but the perch were hammering them.

Yeah, I was surprised they were hitting something that big but we were also hoping to get a pike in the same area. At least it eliminated the smaller perch.

Nice report and glad you've been getting some fishing time in with the busy schedule. Yes running your own business can be a pain.. But nice since you can take a day off, when you feel like it..
