atv on a trailer ?

what is the norm when transporting your atv or sled on trailer
i am thinking the slush and salt must make a mess of things
is a fitted cover good enough or is there more required.
i like to have my atv spanking clean even more so when the a.d.d kicks in lol

A number of years ago I had a 3 wall trailer, 4 feet high with the rear and top open. Even with a good quality cover, the wind suction behind the trailer was horrible, it just sucked that salty road mist everywhere in there. The cover was white and crusty with salt, the ATV just as bad. If you want your machine last and stay clean and free of that salt, get an enclosed cargo trailer or build up the walls and top yourself. It's worth it.

From experience, travel covers don't last. I purchased an expensive cover from a "store" in Innisfil and had a seem let go half way to moose camp; it was a pain to get replaced (sent away and I had to make a return trip to get the new one). The new one ripped and the process repeated itself,.... for the last time. They are not waterproof, although they do keep the dew from collecting on the machine.
Enclosed trailer (built or bought) is the best -- big enough trailer to also store accessories as well.

Agree, even the expensive covers designed for hauling do not hold up very well.

maybe i have to puts some plywood togather or get a better sled lol
