Simcoe Hawgs, Last trip of the year..

There are not too many days in November with no wind and that are warm enough to enjoy standing in a boat for 7 hours so with that, we decided to give it one last kick at the can on Monday before Jake Trout put his boat away. We weren’t the only people out there but thankfully the “community hole” only had a few boats in it. We were out a few weeks ago and the fish were fat but still had a little room to grow, not this trip. Some of the fish we caught were some of the fattest smallmouth I have ever see.



The cold snap we had a week ago really set these fish up well. It pushed them a little deeper and they were really schooled up. The day started off slow with only a few fish caught so we started searching for more fish. When we moved out a little deeper we found a few huge schools of bass and slayed them. Many bass were landed and everyone got their fill before putting the gear away and waiting for the ice. Great way to end the open water season!

Rewarded for your persistence ...a great day you will talk about forever..I’ve had a few of those over the years on Simcoe..when things line up and you get on a deep school of bass...it makes up for the slow days..
