Once you make your smitty sled, weight won't be a problem anymore so don't worry about the hut, you'll see what a big difference the smitty will make. Mine comes apart, it's basically 2 skis with a chunk of 2x8 in the front and back of each with a 2x4 sized notch cut in them. Then I have 2 2x4s to lay across into the notches. I glued a carriage bolt to each end of my 2x4s that fit into a hole in the notch to lock them in place. Then when you take it apart you can wrap it all up with the rope you use to pull it. It takes up no room and I'm sure would fit in your car. Oh ya, and when you make your sled, screw some eye bolts into it so you can strap your stuff down with bungees. Wish I had a photo to show you, I'm sure the threads the guys are talking about will have some that look just like mine. Hope this helps!

If you are not sure if the gas has ethanol pour a small amount into a clear jar, add some tap water and shake, if it gets cloudy it has ethanol or contaminated with water, if its clear and settles and you can see the water layer on the bottom its pure gas. As a trick you can still extract this gas, put this in a freezer and let the water on the bottom freeze solid and pour off the gas, clear it with the wife or do it when she is not around as trying to explain why you have gas in the freezer is not going to go well.... trust me
I had to read your gas comments to my wife, too funny and mostly because it is the sort of thing I always get in trouble for. For example I got an earful tonight as she was missing her old big slotted ladle that I appropriated for ice fishing a few years ago and promptly broke... how was I to know it was a priceless family heirloom from her mother?

Ouch lol! That’s be a hard one to explain! Plan on doing what I’ve seen in the past few threads, with the cross beams and stuff. What sort of container should I use onto of that? Thinking a big rubber made tot, as I’m a uni student I’m like broke lol and the black sleds that I see people use are to expensive.

The tote is a great idea, I put my old sled on top of my smitty sled and now put a tote inside of it. It's great because with the lid on it keeps the snow off of stuff. The rest of your long stuff just gets bungeed to the frame!

a plastic bin is great to haul it out on, just make sure it is a firmer/thicker plastic. The ones that flex a lot (like thin walled rubbermaids) can have a tendency to crack/shatter on you when it is really cold out.
