Fish Inn Ice Shelter, To good to be true?

Hey Guys, wondering if anyone has ever bought/used the Fish Inn 4-6 person Ice Shelter from Costco. The price is almost too good to pass up.

Myself and some friends are considering purchasing this so we can all hang in the same shelter. (We have two 2-3 person shelters atm)

Bought on last year. Great hut as long as there is no wind. Ended up ripping in a couple place. Too much surface are for the wind to catch.

I paid the same if not less for the Cabelas 6pack shelter a few years ago and it's still going strong today. Had one pole snap but that was my fault. It's a giant dome style. I am very happy with it for large group outings.

Don't buy it, I bought one and kept bringing it back for an exchange. It rips on the inside very quickly. Spent the extra hundred bucks buy an insulated one. You won't regret it.

4 years of hard use still going

I had one 2-3 man, for about 5 years and was great except for the windows which were quickly thrashed by the wind and cold. I made my own replacements and no issues. The beauty about Costco is they will take items back. Last winter i busted a zipper when it froze, I walked in to my local store without receipt and they gave me a store credit. Returned home and ordered a new one, 3-4 man for the extra room. I haven't tried the bigger hut yet but won't hesitate recommending them. By buddies purchased the Rapalas and I see no difference. I also have a two man Clam Guide hut but for walking out in heavier snow, the pop- up works well in my opinion!

Once again, spend the extra money and get an insulated hut. You will regret buying the costco one, the fabric on the inside is garbage, went through 3 of them. Switched to an insulated and will never go back. Only good thing like others said is you can always return it.

Yes it all comes down to money. And room. With an Iinsulated hut u have to have room to open it up and dry it out. They are also heavier

Basstard....you have got me thinking and I went looking. Costco now sells an insulated unit, a tad more but I'm willing to pay it. With the bigger size, my only concern is will my heater be sufficient...with the hut being insulated I think this is my answer! Thanks for being persistant. As 4D stated, it all comes down to the money..the room I have. I'd open my old hut yo dry put every time I took it out.

GRW: buy the best you can afford or willing to pay for! Like I stated, the one I bought years ago lasted me and I still recommend it for its price point.

Only issue I found was the black lining comes off after a while.

I'm seeing $339 in the link provided. I paid less than $300 for the Rapala version from Canadian Tire and it has held up well so far. Granted, it was on sale, but I think I'd be holding out for a better deal.

I've had the 4 person fish inn hut from costco for the last 3 yrs now and haven't had an issue. Buddy heater on the inside for the really cold days and no problem. Lots of room to move around in, and relatively simple for one person to set up. Mind you if it is windy, I do like the added value of a second person to help hold while I anchor it. I personally can't complain about the product as I haven't had any issues.

I agree to pay more and have insulated one.
I have polar fire 4 persons and it is great. Solid and strong hold the heat and dry.

Or you can buy a "Skippers Inn" from SkippersTackleBox.com for a fair price.. lmfao...

...clearly worth the bucks!! Just look at the pictures of the fish you catch when you have one of those huts!
