Hello again my friends.
We have been blessed by the weather gods with some remarkable low temps prior to Christmas.Yahoo! And some of us have been on the ice of lakes that we have fished for years, and in some instances decade's , mmm.I have been priveleged to fish this tiny lake for many decades or years,I was out yesterday with fellow board member Dave and we proceeded with extreme caution and used proper safety equipment to check the ice before we decided to give it a go.
The ice we ventured onto was 4inches plus, enough to fish on for our liking.
Today I also fished the same spot with more great results as i loaded up with a little bit of livebait on this occasion! CHEATED! LOL
Here is my point though that I would like to make. Two fellows came out with a spud bar and flotation suits and ventured 50 yards past me to check ice. They immediately returned and informed me the ice was barely 2 inches@@!
I myself have never ventured out that far early in the season, so take note my friends if you don't know the body of water stay off for a bit longer as it wont be too long now and we can all be out here! Be safe have a great season and have a Crappie day!
