So would like to try a level wind type of reel for ice fishing instead of spinning outfit.
Some of those ice fishing specific reel that look kinda like a mooching or fly fishing reels get bad reviews like one from fragile. Also that one whose brand escapes me but has a number "7" I think in its name.
So had heard that a small level wind might be the ticket but that spool feed hole must be large or it will freeze up.
Any suggestion or eperience?
Thx

Rapala concept inline or 13 fishing would be where Id look for better quality!

NO 8 tackle and 13 fishing are the same company FYI.

Seen pretty good reviews for the CGI by no8 tackle, picked one up on sale, looks decent for the price.

Are you talking about inline reels?

so it was the 13 reels I was thinking about but they are pretty pricey and read some inconsistent reviews.
I guess what I was asking about was more a traditional level wind reel, a small bait caster or small trolling reel.

SAIL has a great deal on Rapala concept combo...1/3 the regular price but not available online and I don't live close to a store....and lots of stores sold out so I would have definitely given that a try if they were available online.

I guess most baitcasters and trolling reels would be too heavy and bulky...even the 20 size??
