I'm half way thru making one and will post a pic when completed..I never got around to making it last year .
Wifey almost thru out the skis I got so there is no putting it off anymore.. Lol

here's one I made with removable ski's. The skis' come off and the aluminum frame goes into the tub and the folding seat snaps onto the frame inside of the flip up

good work, will have to build one sooner or later.

Here is the one i made last year, i made it so it can be taken apart with wing nuts

i made it so it can carry my 1 or 2 man flip or the popup

carriage bolt and wing nut, two 2x4's cross members in various lengths and it breaks down in about 1 min

What is everyone using to attach the wood to the skis? is everyone just using screws and countersinking them?

i sanded the ski's down to ruff up the surface and applied a construction adhesive, then exactly what you said counter sunk #10 - 3 1/2 inch deck screws and applied a ski wax with hair dryer. Glides over the snow with very little effort, very stable and no issues with tipping

I put the carriage bolts in the cross members then drilled a hole in the bottoms, gravity and the weight of your stuff & the bungee cords hold it down.

that was my original idea as well and probably the smarter and simpler way to go but I decided I wanted to be able to use various sized cross members without any additional hardware, also was worried if i did not have fasteners the unit may twist a little when pulling.

Jig saw, drill , glue ,wood rasp and file as well as the chop saw is all I've used to get the project going.. It's the start of something.. Lol..
