I was out yesterday on South chemong, also had 6-8 inches of ice and agree the bass are nuts. Did catch one crappie.

You were in weeds?
What depth? Thanks

Is there enough ice to bring a quad out on the lake yet or is it a better idea to just walk out

I was fishing in 6-8ft of water, slight bottom weed. As for atv, I took mine out however I am very familar with South end, first trip I stopped every 100 yards to drill and check.
Even with the extreme cold that we have had there are some significant wet spots. Some permanent huts starting to show up. Lots of snowmobile tracks.

Anyone been out near Rotary Park? Looking to get out there today, just wondering if the ice is good to go.

Haven’t been out yet, but thinking of heading out today as well.

I got a spud bar just in case.either Chemong or rice if it looks good.

Ice further south is fine near the islands. Rice has at least 8" out from Bewdley.

Got out for a couple hours today, lots of guys were out just south of the causeway. Where I set up there was 8 1/2 inches of ice. Looks good!

Was on Chemong today as well for a couple hours south of causeway.

Might have seen you in passing. There were a few huts out.

7 - 8 inches pretty much everywhere I drilled.

Any luck today for anyone that fished Chemong? I got skunked for the two hours I was out.

I just wanted to see if you guys had any good suggestions for my buddy and I to go rent a hut. We are new to ice fishing and just wanted to go out 1 or 2 days to rent a hut and ice fish for some crappies (ideally)!

Hey guys! Happy New Year!!

First post on this forum!

I'll be up on Chemong as much as I can this winter for some hard water action.
I usually fish north of the causeway, but looking to meetup and fish anywhere on the lake.

Hoping to get out this week or weekend for the first time this season, seems like the ice is getting pretty thick all around.

I'm loving the ice/fish reports on this thread, keep it up guys and hope to meetup on the ice sometime!

keep safe,
tight lines,

Johnny

It's a cold one today. Fishing the north end. The bite is slow. Beers are freezing fast.
