Is it worth my time fishing river mouths' of Eastern lake Ontario tribs this time of year? My mobility has been limited due to recently fractured foot. Prolonged walking and wading at my usual spots causes too much pain. For this reason thinking of staying put on a pier/rivermouth until we get some safe ice.
As of lately got some time that I can dedicate to fishing but having the worst fall season shorefishing for salmon/steelhead. Have been skunked on all of my outings.
Heard a theory that Georgian Bay fish entered the tribs much earlier this year due to rainy cold weather we had most of the summer and are already up in the top stretches. Would this theory apply to the Lake Ontario tributaries as well?

This fall has been mostly dry and the rivers are running pretty low. I've been catching a lot of chromers. So i think theres still fish pushing up. The rivermouths should hold staging fish waiting for some rain to start their run. Good luck.
P.s. the fishing was good a few weeks ago. For me anyways.
