New Garmin Striker 4

Mornin' Everyone,

Anyone out there have a Garmin Striker portable? Just invested in one for the canoe -- they're pretty slick. Suction cups to the side of the canoe. Still sorting out all its features, trial and error, but so far we're quite impressed with it. The battery barely drained in the cold. we got cold before it! lol And yes, yes, we were careful on the water. Vid below:

Never caught anything, but we startled a massive SOMETHING along a rock cliff wall; as we trolled by, it breached and slammed back into the water with such a splash, all I saw was this massive black back. Not sure who was startled more -- us or IT! Classic fumble -- in my haste to cast to it I overshot with my new $25 lure and it hit the wall. damn. busted the hook off! However, the chunk off the body just made it appear even more realistic -- lol as though something had already tried chomping on it, lol Anyhow, most likely our last time on water before the (hopefully) freeze over.

I was playing around with the demo at bass pro in Niagara on Monday. Looks like a decent little unit. Has sonar and flasher settings. Not sure how it preforms overall, but if it works i'd say its a good unit for the buck.

Hi Guys. I just purchased one at radio world in Toronto on the weekend. The staff was very helpful and explained the workings of the unit . It comes with GPS and chirp and the flasher mode as well. It was on sale for $199. Looking forward to the hard water.

the one at Costco comes with a rechargeable battery, not sure the one from BassPro comes with the battery, too ? Maybe I should talk to my wife we need some grocery shopping done myself... :-P
