Its to bad you can't walleye fish in the winter. Perch in the Kawarthas aren't a whole lot of fun. Perch on simcoe though......like fishing for small bass lol.

fish chemong all winter lots of perch and bluegill and some days some good crappie. Lots of action to keep you busy, I just walk out and move around until I find fish.

Hey Guys,

I am looking to get out and ice fish Chemong this year and am looking for some tips.

I moved to the area last year and fished a couple times near the Bridgenorth Causeway but didn't do all that well.

Would anyone be willing to PM me some spots to try on the south end?

Thanks!

Edit: seems like my e-mail and PM functions don't work at the moment?

The best thing to start out with would be download Navionics and use that to find the places where fish would be (Depth and Contours) then punch some holes and drop some lines. Process of trial and error. Or if you wait till other people get out there you can follow the masses.

Walked out about 20ft from fifes bay. Still less than 2 " of ice. Was cracking under my feet. Lake still needs a few days
