Here is to hoping we do. I've been gearing up for the season and getting ready to get out there. From what I can see the temps may cooperate; just have to see what happens on the Bay.
It would be nice to take a few days off after the New Year to get out on the ice.

With the forecasted temps I think wind will be the biggest factor.
Yes I agree, wind will work with us but also against us. It will help to cool the Lake to 32°F but it will also help to prevent the ice from forming when the water is cool enough

Can't see it happening until after January so let's hope I'm proven wrong.... Be safe , I don't think we need to take any chances out there... Cheers....

With the forecasted temps, I wouldn't be surprised if guys are walking out the end of next week- like one week from Saturday(12/16) but certainly by the following Saturday (12/23).

we just finished our soft water season on Sunday with one last trip to Bay of Quinte and the boat is now packed away, this is the most punishing time for me between seasons so hopefully the snow files and i can do some sledding until the safer ice in Jan

forget about cooks bay this year, IMO, too far south. look up at couchiching!!!!! hopefully that freezes before christmas???:
Even on the worst of winter cooks will freeze mid January. Forget about cooks? Are you insane? Cooks is shallow, it will freeze, Id bet before Christmas for early ice.

Looks like the cold weather has finally arrived. -0 temps day and night for the next 14 days according to the weather app. If those temps hold on for another week after I predict the operators start pulling there huts out 1st week January. The big question is when will the laker grounds be ready ?
EESHHH... here is to hoping things tighten up this year and this ice prediction isn't correct
that is a horrible article and hoping they are wrong. As someone mentioned above we just need the wind to work with us. The temps are there to make ice.
