Was out on 2nd Line today near Gilford only 2-3” inches of ice but that was good enough for me and my buddy. It was very calm, didn’t even need to use the anchors for our hut.
Fished 25 fow and brought in a good 30-40 keepers and a few over 13”

14” perch are common in simcoe haha, definately not a new record. 15”+ like this guys up there ^ are the real simcoe trophies!
I personally landed three over 14” last season and saw plenty over 14 caught, my buddy that I was out with yesterday has already got his first 14” of the season

I know there's bigger but I thought the Simcoe record through the ice was 39.5 cm around 15.5 inches? That was a few years back so I guess I should research before I post. At least 300 yds to get that deep in that area. Gutsy and good job.

This is one I caught last yeas
Great stuff!!!!! Heck, it looks like you've got a bit more room on the tail side but I know that could just be the angle. The biggest perch my eyes have ever seen in front of me is 14.75 inches 2 different times 4 fish. They looked like short, fat pickerel.

YEs the record is 15.5” or something close. But it’s A lot of bs to go through to get a fish registered as a new record. With literally everyone having cameras on them at all times nowadays most people will just take a picture and brag about it on sites like this instead of going through the hassle of actually contacting the mnr and getting the fish weighed measured and registered in the record books.
