Hey all,
Don't know where to post this but will be living in London moving forward for the next few years. I haven't made it out fishing yet on the Thames but have been told where to go from the locals. With the cold weather coming up, I was wondering if anyone over the next few weeks could give updates on Lake fanshawe and surrounding areas for ice fishing. I'll be down there this weekend to maybe do a cruise but would be nice to know whats available...
Or even information on what lakes there are to fish in the area would be nice and I can check them out in the new year.

Belwood lake is east of Fergus Ontario which is roughly 1-1.5 hours from London, I’ve fished it lots as I live close by. Fishing has been tough in the last few years, I wouldn’t waste the gas, lol.

Thanks for the tips... If i'm driving an hour, I might as well make a day trip and either go home and fish small lakes around Owen Sound or make the weekend trip and stay in Orillia and fish Simcoe with a friend.
Going to check fanshawe this weekend and see what the conditions are like.

There's really not much good ice fishing in this area. Best bet would be to try and find a private pond and ask permission to fish. As others have said the public waters like Wildwood, Belwood, etc. are in decline.

Most places around this way would take any hour trip to good fishing, having said that it would be worth your time to check out rondeau, erieau area. Was capped over before this warm spell

All this disappointing news is making me realize how lucky I am to live in the Collingwood/ Owen Sound area with all the small inland lakes we have up here.

Ya wildwood in st Mary's is a good place to catch pike. There is a little lake /pond in dorchester that some of my buddies fish ive never caught anything there. Fanshawe conservation is sketchy the last couple years the ice breaks up alot because of the constant change in water flow. This year might be different. There is pittock in woodstock but ive only heard about ppl ice fishing there i havent myself. And sarnia has some oportunity when the bay freezes over. Im sure there are other opotrunities. There is also a club on southdale rd that has an ice tourny every year ask the guys at angling sports about that. Plus its about equal distance maybe even closer to mitchells bay as it is to simcoe. Hope it all helps.! Fish On and tight lines bro.
