best bet is to head down to Lake St Clair for perch. There are walleye in Fanshawe but have never tried for them. Rondeau Bay should be frozen safe soon if not already. Inner Bay of Long Point can produce perch but I;ve not done well down there. Good luck

Rondeau bay is good to go fished yesterday found 5 to 6 inches. Handful of perch and a few small pike. Caught on slab grabbers and plain minnow on the dead stick

Seems Rondeau is a reasonable drive. Only takes about an hour or so... Might have to try to convince the GF to come out. If not, then I will probably take the fish TV and try fanshawe for whatever is in there and work my way out in every direction based on recommendations.

if you're heading to Fanshawe check out depth map on FishONline. Broadscale monitoring report shows decent perch and walleye catches. might have to give it a try this winter. good luck

I've checked out the navionics on it. Looks like some good fishing areas so i'm excited to see how the ice is holding up and how we make out.

Let me know what you find. The fun will begin trying to find minnows to fish with if the ice is good new years eve or on new years.

Angling sports in London sells minnows. I’ve always wanted to check out Fanshawe lake for ice fishing so if you go give me a pm.

So we made it out to wildwood today we were on the east side of the dam found 5 inch black ice min everywhere we punched holes some areas 6 and 1 to 2 inch white ice on top. Approx 4 inch if snow when got there and about 10 to 12 when we left fish 10 to 15 fow had a lot of marks 2 dink perch lost approx 10 fish 5 or 6 lures the little buggers... didnt limit out but took home some keepers (pike) all 2-4 lb'rs all in all a good day out there. Saw several other groups out on the west side not sure how any of the did but sounded like they were having fun...
I definetly would not say the watera are "in decline" but ti each their own.

I live in Ingersoll area. There are lots of places around to ice fish, you just have to find them. I’ve always liked wildwood. Used to catch lots and lots of big perch there, now it’s mostly pike but I like pike also. There are lots of gravel pits around to. Some you are allowed in but most you are not. I know of at least 9 or 10 spots just off the top of my head but I won’t say them publicly on here.
