Another thing you should consider is insurance. Your homeowners policy isn't likely to cover anything that happens due to business activity Any incident could become very unpleasant and expensive.
You might need to get some type of commercial insurance.

There is a good opportunity here. Hear me out.
If you collect this money as charitable donations to your favorite charity.
At the end of the season donate the money in your name and you will get a big tax receipt that you can claim on your taxes.
The money is still money in your pocket at the end of the year. The Government is happy since the donations are non taxable and you get money back. A local charity is happy, and the town will look like d-bags if they try to shut down a charity drive.
BOOM!
I used this to raise money for the Wounded Warriors before.

Once the town finds out that they're loosing revenue, the by-law guys will shut it down.
Not to mention if the neighbors don't like it.
It's a can-o-worms waiting to be opened.
bayliner nailed it first. once you start competing for revenue.... potentially zoning (non-permitted use or operating business from residence) and/or licensing (no permit for parking lot)violations. the member who mentioned the insurance implications has revealed real liability!

See a accountant.....run it as a business under $30,000 income.....you do not have to charge tax and can run it under your personal tax and have writeoffs....I believe 7% of your house cottage....utilities and phone.....worth looking into.

Always a potential problem if you make it a business. However can't see it a problem if you invite some friends from this forum up for the day and if they leave a house warming present say 10.00 or so no different than any other occasion. Add me to the list and Pm me for the next party.

Do a donation box - rather than pay per park. i've come across some boat ramps only ask for donation to keep the ramp clean for a small town. this donation box i know of has not change over 6 years.
some places started with donation box and changed to charge per park because of damages and litters.
